British sex offender arrested on the Costa Blanca
The 41-year-old, subject to an International Arrest Warrant, was picked up by police in San Fulgencio

National Police officers have arrested a 41 year old British man in San Fulgencio on the Costa Blanca after discovering he was wanted by the authorities in the United Kingdom in connection with a serious sexual assault case.
The suspect was the subject of an International Arrest Warrant issued last August by British judicial authorities. The alert was circulated through Interpol after investigators believed the man had left the UK and was living in the province of Alicante in an attempt to evade justice.
Following the alert, Spanish police launched an investigation to locate the fugitive. After several lines of enquiry, officers were able to confirm his identity and whereabouts in San Fulgencio, where he was arrested without resistance.
According to official sources, the man is wanted for offences committed between 2014 and 2015 and faces the possibility of a life sentence if convicted in the United Kingdom.
After his arrest, the suspect was transferred to the Central Court of Instruction of the National Court, which will now handle the extradition process requested by British authorities.
