Fuente Alamo invests 750k to open the motorbike race track
The abandoned speed circuit, located beside Hacienda del Álamo Golf Resort, has been the scene of several illegal parties

Seventeen years after work first began at the Los Milanos municipal circuit, the local government in Fuente Álamo has announced that it will completely renovate the open motorcycle race track with a huge cash injection of 750,000 euros.
The building works were actually completed in 2018 but the circuit, which is ideally located near the Hacienda del Álamo Golf Resort, was never officially inaugurated. Over the years, locals have become increasingly frustrated with the misuse of this huge open area, which acts as a magnet for youth drinking and parties.
Just last year, an illegal rave at the track began on New Year’s Eve and lasted all the way to Three Kings’ Day 2024, a raucous 7-day alcohol and drug-fuelled affair that caused thousands of euros worth of damage.
The new 750k investment will be taken out of a treasury surplus corresponding to the 2023 budgets and as such, the race track renovations will have to at least be started before the end of this year.
Of the total, the majority of the funds will go towards fixing the 3,841 metres of track surface, which was never set properly and caused loose gravel to dangerously fly about, especially around the bends. Another chunk of the investment will be spent on repairing the damage caused by the rave – around 115,000 euros.
Almost 7 tonnes of rubbish has to be picked up, which will cost 4,000 euros, and another 90,000 euros will be used to clear roughly 4,000 square metres of graffiti.
According to the Local Police and Guardia Civil, around 5,000 people attended the illegal party during the seven days it lasted.
The mayor of Fuente Álamo pointed out that “everything is the result of the work and effort of a government team that looks at every last cent of expenditure and sources of financing responsibly.”
Overall, the budgetary surplus amounts to a whopping 2.3 million euros, 480,000 of which will be used to pay off the council’s bank debt. This too will have a positive impact on the pockets of locals, who won’t have to bear the burden of extra taxes.
