Earthquake measuring 3.5 hits Northwest Murcia
The tremor was felt in felt in Calasparra, Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz

The National Geographic Institute (ING) recorded an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale in the northwest of the Region of Murcia during the early hours of Thursday, September 18.
The quake struck just before three in the morning (2:54 a.m. local time) and its epicentre was located just fifteen kilometres from Caravaca de la Cruz. The earthquake was shallow, hitting 0.5 kilometres from the Earth's surface (a longitude of -1.6978 and an intensity of III, according to ING data).
As a result, the quake was felt lightly in several towns in the Northwest, the Mula River region and the Ricote Valley, primarily in Calasparra, located 10 kilometres from the epicentre; Caravaca (15 km), Cehegín (10 km), Mula (21 km) and Cieza (25 km).
It was also felt in Bullas, Moratalla and Piego. Fortunately, no personal injury or property damage has been reported so far.
