Cloudy skies and cooler days in store for Murcia this weekend: Weather forecast February 26-March 1

We bid goodbye to a turbulent February with a return to slightly chillier conditions

What better way to see off what was, for the most part, a wild and windy February in the Region of Murcia than with a return to slightly cloudier, cooler and gustier weather than we’ve had in the last week and a half?

Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is forecasting a dip in temperatures over the course of this weekend, along with heavier cloud cover and some moderate winds, but nothing like the storms we saw earlier in the month.

Thursday February 26

For Thursday, Aemet forecasts “Partly cloudy or clear skies” with temperatures “slightly down”, except for minimums on the coast going up a bit. They note there will be “light easterly winds inland and moderate winds on the coast”.

Friday February 27

Friday will be a bit more overcast, “with intervals of medium and high clouds, with the possibility of low cloud cover in the morning on the coast,” according to Aemet. Temperatures not change too much, and windspeeds will stay around the same – at 5-25kmh.

Temperatures begin to dip on Saturday, especially daytime temps, which will drop down a couple of degrees to 17-22ºC at their height. Minimum temperatures will see little change, hovering around 5-8ºC in the north and 8-11ºC in the southern half of the Region.

There will also be a chance of scattered rain showers, especially in higher altitude areas near to Murcia’s northwestern border.

Sunday March 1

March comes in with cloudy skies and maximum temperatures decreasing further, not surpassing 19ºC at their warmest. Aemet also continues to forecast “light easterly winds inland and moderate winds on the coast”.

And that’s not all, because the cloudiness and some scattered rain look set to be the overriding weather pattern for next week, too.

Friday February 27: Min 6ºC; Max 23ºC
Saturday February 28: Min 6ºC; Max 22ºC
Sunday March 1: Min 6ºC; Max 19ºC
