Wet but warm this week: Spain weather forecast February 17-20
The coming week is expected to be warmer than usual in large parts of Spain

Average temperatures expected on Wednesday February 19
Thanks to the arrival of an anticyclone, the weather on Valentine’s weekend was pleasant and mild in most of Spain, albeit a bit overcast on Sunday. However, the situation is changing due to an incoming Atlantic front that will result in cloudy skies and widespread rain, particularly in the west of the country.
But even so, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is predicting the days to be “warmer than normal throughout Spain”, especially in the north and midlands.
Monday February 17

Partly cloudy skies will be the order of the day with virtually no rain on the horizon, with the exception of some light, early morning showers in the Balearic Islands and Catalonia.
Daytime temperatures will fall by a degree or two, although 23ºC will still be reached in Granada and Murcia will bake in a summery 26ºC.
Tuesday February 18

The rain will arrive on Tuesday as the Atlantic front sweeps in, resulting in largely cloudy or overcast skies in all of western Spain; high clouds are forecast in the east and in the Balearic Islands.
Showers and some stormy intervals are expected to hit the southwest, and this wet weather could easily extend to the rest of the country as the hours go by.
Even with the rain, daytime temperatures should start to climb across the board.
Wednesday February 19

Wednesday will be very cloudy and wet in the northwest of Spain, with the rain spreading as far as the southern Mediterranean, where it could turn stormy. In general, the outlook is for a very cloudy day with frequent downpours.
Despite this, the mercury will continue to rise and most areas can expect temperatures in the high teen or low to mid-20s.
Thursday February 20

Northern Spain will again be fairly overcast and damp on Thursday, while the rest of the country can expect a cloudy day. It will also be much darker during the afternoon along the Mediterranean coast, where occasional light rain is forecast as well.
With the exception of the Balearic Islands, daytime temperatures are expected to continue rising, although Thursday night will be a degree or two cooler than the rest of the week.
