Storm Nuria lands with fierce winds and rain: Spain weekend weather forecast April 3-7
Red weather alerts have been issued in the Canary Islands for gale-force winds and the rain will be widespread throughout Spain

Average temperatures expected on Saturday April 5
It was touch and go whether she’d arrive at all, but storm Nuria has indeed landed in Spain, the 14th named storm of the season and the first major squall of April. The worst of the weather is expected to hit between Thursday and Friday (April 3 and 4), with widespread rain, thunderstorms and gale-force winds across large parts of the country and the Canary Islands, where a red warning has already been issued.
Thursday April 3

The weather will become more unstable as storm Nuria approaches. Thursday will be cloudy or overcast with rain expected throughout the country, although it should be scattered and light in the southeast.
On the other hand, the rain will be heavy and persistent in inland Spain and in the Canary islands. The day will be very blustery throughout thanks to strong southwesterly gusts.
Daytime temperatures should continue to hover around the low 20s in most of southern Spain.
Friday April 4

The storm will take hold on Friday, resulting in very dark skies and almost widespread, heavy rain, although the extreme southeast should escape the worst again and the Balearic Islands will remain dry. The stormy weather should start to ease up in the Canary Islands, although scattered showers are still expected.
Daytime temperatures should shoot up in the east, reaching a very warm 26ºC in Murcia.
Saturday April 5

Saturday will be a bit of a rest day between various weather fronts, so things will settle down considerably. After a cloudy start, the skies should clear across Spain towards the afternoon and the temperatures will continue to inch up, touching 25ºC in Alicante and increasing to 27ºC in Murcia.
Sunday April 6

Following a settled, pleasant morning, a front will arrive that will leave behind more overcast skies throughout Spain and light to moderate rainfall in the southwest. While showers could spread to other parts in the afternoon, the rain should clear up on Sunday evening.
Daytime temperatures look set to drop by a couple of degrees.
Monday April 7

Looking ahead to next week, the sunny skies should return on Monday following some overnight and very early morning rain in the extreme south. While most of Spain can expect some bright spells during the afternoon, showers will dampen much of the east coast and inland.
No major changes are expected temperature-wise on Monday.
