The Roda Golf & Beach Resort has always had a great reputation among locals and international travellers alike. A golfer’s dream, the resort is a sun-drenched player’s utopia situated less than 2 km from the serene waters of the Mar Menor. Visually, it’s a treat.
However, what makes many players love its 18-hole, 72-par spread is that it features a beautifully designed course. Between lakes and perfectly manicured grass, it contains stunning apartments and spacious townhouses that overlook the course.
With its popularity in no doubt, the course is now preparing to up the ante among golfers. Already respected among amateurs and professionals alike, the new step will see the course able to improve the events it now hosts. That’s because it’s going to introduce Toptracer technology to its driving range.
This announcement follows broader interest in tech from other sports. While VAR continues to spread across football and tennis continues to expand its use of technology in officiating, golf is also catching on to these trends. As a result of the Toptracer system, visitors to the resort can access shot tracking features. These will enable them to pull up stats and provide live feedback.
It’s these kinds of technologies that have also made golf a favourite among online punters. These days, with the kind of stats and tracking technologies now available, many players are using streamlined sites to enjoy a more efficient sports betting experience than ever. With sites that lack straight sign-up now more popular than ever, many players wonder, how does no verification work when referring to these sites? According to gaming expert Viola D’Elia, the appeal is simple: no need for document uploads, no waiting for account approval and fewer interruptions between placing bets.
Now, throw in the kind of analytics you can get from technologies like Toptracer, and it becomes obvious how much more there is to betting these days. Many players now use these modern analytics tools and combine them with things like AI to provide the kind of sports betting insights ordinary players never had in the past.
These platforms have caught on because they focus on speed and flexibility. Users get to wager without dealing with extra admin. That matters to people who want quick results and don't like red tape. Just like golfers at Roda want their feedback instantly, bettors enjoy having that same flow while they play from their phones or tablets.
The new Toptracer system will bring a similar sense of immediacy to the driving range. It tracks the flight of the ball, giving players data on speed, angle, spin and distance. This means anyone, from beginners to seasoned golfers, can see how they’re performing, compare results with friends or even play virtual rounds on famous courses around the world.
Staff at Roda Golf say the system will be ready this summer. Eight separate Toptracer bays will be installed, and players will be able to book slots directly through the resort. Once it’s live, this will make Roda the first course in the Region of Murcia to feature Toptracer on-site. For the local Spanish golfing scene, that’s a major step forward.
Until now, tech like this has mainly been available in northern Europe or high-end US resorts. Roda’s move brings those features to locals and tourists who visit the Murcia coast for sunshine and sport.
However, the system’s main appeal is its interactive side. Players can also use it to set up personal challenges. If that’s not your thing, it can be used to play as a group and provide other competitive angles beyond a straight game. At the very least, players can track their progress and gain insights on how to improve their game.
The tech isn’t just for solo practice. It’s designed to make the range more social, especially in the evenings or weekends when friends and groups often turn up together.
The setup also makes things easier for the coaching staff. Instructors can use the data to show exactly where a player needs to adjust, instead of relying only on observation. This helps with training and makes lessons more precise. Golfers of all levels tend to enjoy the feedback. It’s quick, clear, and easy to understand.
The resort’s decision ties into a wider trend across Murcia, where sports clubs and leisure venues are starting to bring in digital systems to boost attendance and keep things fresh. The addition of Toptracer is just one part of Roda Golf’s broader push to upgrade its facilities and stay competitive with larger resorts in southern Spain.
