Málaga launches direct summer flights to booming Middle Eastern capital
The new route will operate from the Costa del Sol three times as week from July 14

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is set to launch a new direct connection to Riyadh, giving travellers on the Costa del Sol easier access to Saudi Arabia's rapidly growing capital.
The new route will be operated by Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's second national airline, and will run from July 14 to September 8, with three flights per week.
Services will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with flights departing Málaga at 9.05am and arriving in Riyadh at 4.30pm local time. Return flights will leave King Khalid International Airport at 1.20am, landing in Málaga at 7.25am.
Passengers will travel aboard a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with flight times ranging from 6 hours 25 minutes to 7 hours 5 minutes, depending on direction and conditions.
The new connection opens up a destination that combines centuries of history with rapid modern development. Visitors can explore attractions such as the historic Masmak Fortress, traditional palaces and museums, while also experiencing the city's modern skyline, luxury shopping centres and growing restaurant scene.
Tickets are already available through Riyadh Air's website, travel agencies and online booking platforms.
The airline is also launching a direct Madrid-Riyadh service on July 17, operating four times a week. Riyadh Air says the route will strengthen links between Spain and Saudi Arabia while offering travellers onward connections to destinations across the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
Riyadh has become an increasingly important business and tourism hub in recent years as Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to attract more international visitors and investment.
