Murcia one of just four Spanish provinces on alert for rainfall this Sunday
Aemet has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rains in central Murcia

For this Sunday March 8, International Women's Day, the State Meteorological Agency in Spain (Aemet) has issued a yellow-level weather warning for heavy rainfall in the central area Valle del Segura area of the Region of Murcia.
Aemet is predicting that, between the hours of 1pm and 7pm, this area of Murcia could receive accumulations of up to 15mm of rainfall per hour.
The only other parts of Spain subject to yellow alerts are the coastlines of Castellón, Tarragona and Girona, all on the northern Mediterranean coast. In those areas, the forecast rain is expected to reach 20mm per hour.
As well as rain in central Murcia, there are thunderstorms forecast for almost the entire Region on Sunday afternoon.

It comes just after scenes of snowy countryside in the far northwestern mountains of Murcia, and ahead of what is forecast to be a rainy and stormy week to come.
