July 4 Guided tour of the Cayetano de Mergelina archaeology museum in Yecla
Learn about the ancient and medieval history of Yecla through the exhibits at this fascinating museum
Beginning at 10.30 on Sunday 4th July this guided tour includes fascinating insights into the past of Yecla and the surrounding area in the north of the Region of Murcia, beginning with pre-history and the settlements known to have existed at Monte Arabí, continuing with the pre-Roman settlement of El Cerro de los Santos, then the Romans, the centuries of Moorish rule and then the Middle Ages.
All of this millennia-long story is illustrated through the remains and architects contained in the Cayetano de Mergelina archaeology museum, with the highlights including a large Roman mosaic found at the Villa of Los Torrejones.
Registration for this visit, which is scheduled to last two and a half hours, costs just 2.50 euros (corresponding to the entry price to the museum) and can be completed online here.
