HELP Murcia Mar Menor delivers nappies, wipes and Baby clothes to mums in need in Cartagena
RedMadre is currently supporting around 30 mothers and gets through thousands of nappies every month

Volunteers from HELP Murcia Mar Menor made another trip to Cartagena last Thursday, delivering a van-load of donated goods to RedMadre, a charity supporting around 30 mothers in the area who are going through difficult times.
The haul included 1,520 nappies in sizes 3 and 4, 28 packs of wet wipes and five tins of powdered milk, alongside bags of children's clothes, toys and equipment that had been dropped off at the charity's San Javier outlet.
Hand-crocheted blankets and cardigans made by the charity's volunteer knitters also went along in the delivery, a personal touch that's become something of a HELP Murcia trademark.
Much of what was delivered came via the charity's monthly lunch earlier in June, where every guest brought baby items to donate. A special mention went to Diane, who regularly shows up with bags and bags of children's items and has become a vital part of keeping the donations flowing.
According to HELP Murcia Mar Menor president Debbie, these deliveries to RedMadre happen every few months and none of it would be possible without the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers.
RedMadre gets through thousands of nappies every month supporting mothers who are struggling, making every donated pack count.Founded in 2002 and funded entirely through donations and fundraising, HELP Murcia Mar Menor also donated €1,000 this month to Forget Me Not, a Camposol-based charity providing day care and respite support, with a further €1,000 pledged for December.
Anyone wanting to get involved or find out more can visit the charity outlet on Avenida de la Unión 57 in San Javier, open Monday to Friday from 10am to 1.30pm, with collections and deliveries available on Wednesdays and Thursdays by prior arrangement.
