Live music, lighthouse tours and a host of water sports and other activities at various locations in Cabo de Palos

The annual Cabo de Pop festival returns to Cabo de Palos over the weekend of August 14 to 15 in an event which, despite its name, is much, much more than just a music festival.

Alongside live performances from acts such as Mujeres, Los Chivatos and El Diable de Shanghai are a host of activities and events, including food trucks, an arts and crafts market, scuba diving excursions, kayaking, sailing, diving, paddle surfing, guided visits to the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos and creative, artistic and educational workshops. With a clear environmental conscience, the festival prioritizes “green” activities including beach cleaning, re-use and recycling workshops and others, and there is also a family zone called “Pop Kids” with its own workshops and sporting and musical activities.

On the musical front, the inclusion on the bill of the Argentinian group Las Ligas Menores marks the first time the festival has become international, while other big names including the in-vogue dream pop group Ganges and indie stars Axalotes Mexicanos. Representing the Region of Murcia are Wakame, an indie combo who combine elements of dream-pop and “shoegaze”.
