The weekend’s settled, sunny spell continues into this week, across Andalucía, and with the clocks having gone back on Sunday, the evenings are now noticeably shorter. Monday carries on the mild theme rather nicely, though the change comes gradually, with cloud building through Tuesday and Wednesday before rain arrives along the coast and around the Strait by Thursday.

 

 

A fine start to the week, with partly cloudy to clear skies and just some low cloud lingering along the Mediterranean coast. Seville is the star of the show, reaching an unusually warm 30°C for late October, while most of the rest of the region sits in a comfortable mid to high twenties. Temperatures ease slightly along the Mediterranean coast but rise or hold steady elsewhere. Córdoba starts off chilly but later also benefits from the warmth inland. Winds are light and variable for most, turning moderate from the southeast in inland Málaga and the southern mountains, with moderate to occasionally strong easterlies along the eastern coast and in the Strait of Gibraltar.

 

 

Cloud moves in, with low and mid-level cloud giving skies a greyer feel. A chance of occasional light rain around the mountains of the interior, though nothing significant for most. Temperatures on the Mediterranean coast stay fairly steady, while the Atlantic side sees a drop, locally quite sharp in parts of the Sierra de Aracena around Huelva. Minimums change little on the coast but rise a touch on the Atlantic slope. Winds turn westerly from midday along the Almería coast and in the Strait, having started the day easterly.

 

 

Mostly clear skies, though the Mediterranean coast sees intervals of low cloud and the chance of some light showers, more likely in the eastern half of the region. Jaén and Granada may catch a brief shower or two, while the Atlantic side stays dry and sees temperatures nudging back up. Winds turn moderate easterly from midday along the coast, with the Strait occasionally seeing stronger gusts. Inland Málaga and the mountains of Seville see moderate south-easterlies in the afternoon.

 

 

Rain arrives more meaningfully by Thursday, with cloud covering the Mediterranean coast and the chance of showers that become heavier and more likely around Málaga and the Strait of Gibraltar. Cádiz and the area around Tarifa are in the firing line for the stronger gusts. Temperatures see little overall change, though the province of Cádiz and the hills of southern Seville see minimums rise, locally quite noticeably. Winds are light and variable elsewhere, with moderate easterlies in the Strait turning occasionally strong.

 

 

The warmth that made the weekend so pleasant lingers a little longer on Monday before slipping slightly away, and by Thursday the coast is getting a reminder that November is not far off.
