Águilas makes improvements to weekly market green areas
Trees have been planted and a wall has been built as part of the improvements
Águilas Town Councillor Noelia Ruano visited the area where the town’s weekly market takes place to inspect the work that has been carried out to improve the green areas of the marketplace.
The councillor specifically pointed out the low masonry walls that have been built and the thirty pine trees have been planted to create seating, shade and rest areas for people visiting the open-air market Águilas.
The work has also been carried out to delimit and protect the market’s landscaped areas, which in recent years have been affected by illegal parking that has resulted in the damage and demolition of the trees planted there.
This work, subsidised by the General Directorate for the Promotion of Trade, Business Innovation and Industries and Craft Trades, will be completed “with different actions financed with own funds such as the expansion of rest areas and the creation of new parking areas.”
