Hearty traditional fare in the foothills of Sierra Espuña

The Restaurante Fuente del Hilo is one of a couple of restaurants in the foothills of the Sierra Espuña mountain range in central Murcia, and is very popular among those spending a day or longer on activities such as hiking, bird-watching, photography, mountain biking or various other outdoor pursuits. Equally, it is ideal as a stopping-off point for visitors who are simply driving through and admiring the mountain scenery. 

The traditional Murcian cuisine here includes a variety of rice dishes and grilled meat, all of them accompanied by the appetizing scent of natural log fires on which the meat is cooked. 

The restaurant is open every day of the week except Monday and Tuesday, and although the interior is small there is plenty of outdoor seating available.
